Increasing Size of Spawn

Now that I got my colony to regularly spawn, I was wondering on how increase the size of the batch. It seems he is only gaurding 5 wrigglers. I know I haven't been feeding them as much as I used to, but is that all there is to it - food? Previously, I used to rely heavily on bloodworms, but now that...

Re: Hi

Nice set up. Just one suggestion, ensure all the caves are at an angle leaning backwards, the eggs are none adhesive to the cave surface, this helps the male keep them in the cave. Dave hm this is not easy because the caves at first row of caves is on slate. just one question: what shall i do on ne...

Yes, don't worry. I know how dissappointing it us to see them wasting away - but he will learn. My male did the same thing, now he's on his second succesful spawn. :)

Nice setup! I actually liked how you decided to hide the caves and make them look more natural, I was planning something very similar in my next setup. As for PM's suggestion, can't you just move the spraybar to the top and make it aim at the surface? That way it will cause the water to move in a ci...

No, it shouldn't if you don't disturb them while doing it. Good luck.

everytime i leave food overnight it looks like it has fungus on it. also i have sand substrate and a good amount of decor/caves/slate in there so sometimes you cant see the food that is leftover.
That's why I keep scavengers in my pleco tanks.

My step-brother is going to bring round the camera tonight! :d I can't believe it  . What do I feed the little beauty, as I have noticed it's yolk sack getting ever smaller really quick, is this normal? It supposed to be completely consumed by the 10th or 12th day depending on the temperatur...

Congratulations Raul, Sorry I missed the topic first time around... How are you getting on? Pretty good actually! Curiosity got the best of me and since the cave he was using had a removable top - I decided to take a look at what goes on inside. To my surprise I found 5 little Zebras inside; this b...

Is this for real? He probably made over 10K scamming various people (from Plecos to Cichlids) in two weeks - is there no way to get the police into this?

I know it won't do much, but good luck getting your money back.

Raul congrats on your 2nd spawn. Good luck with them. Just a question, How do you drop TDS in a tank and what is a good test kit? For the initial spawn, I used straight tap water. The TDS reached 520ppm because I stopped doing water changes (dry season) and partial laziness. Then I did a lar...

An observation on the pH and KH situation... adding sodium bicarb to increase KH works but is an incomplete remedy. KH is comprised of more than just sodium bicarb. Calcium and magnesium are important and often overlooked components of KH. I mention this because calcium and magnesium might also be ...

Twenty-five days after the first attempt the male and female were at it again, this time it was with the butch female (the same large one above - I'm serious she's as big as the other males in the colony). I noticed the activity on Wedenseday, took the usual head count and found one missing ...

You never really know if it's a female for sure untill she lays the eggs. I'm serious, I have a male that looks so girly and yet I found out he's a male for sure. No, not by looking at his vent but because he actually moved into one of the cave's and I've seen him clash with alpha male over a cave. ...
