thanks guys for the replys. tommorow morning i will try and take some off the sand out i will try to make it around a inch think , as it isaround 2-3 inches at the moment

as for the snails what do you recomend? i have seen the yellow snails i think they are called apple snails im not sure?

Hagen was the brand i used to use i bought the master test kit which cost me £40, but i have heard alot off people say how inaccurate they are so thats why im trying out differant brands :? :?

What Brand Test Kits??????

Hi everyone

I was just wondering if anybody had any preferances over what brand test kits that they use, as i have recently discovered that i was getting some conflicting readings between differant nitrate tests i used SERA, JBL,HAGEN.

Does anybody recommend any brands???

well to be honest i do tend to forget one or two my water changes sometimes and i am getting algea in both my tanks so i just thought one off these filters might help.

Yes your explanation does sound right, i have done 25% water change every day so far and my kh is starting to rise as i am using more tap water.

all the other zebras seem fine at the moment.
