I heard about using snails for this purpose a while back but quickly dismissed it as a myth for fear of them eating the eggs. I have some corys in the hatching process at the moment and I may well give it a try. All I need now are some snails, I'm sure I spotted a few small ones in my Endlers tank. ...

Four and counting, not really sure what sex they are, having spent many an hour studying them I am none the wiser. I'll have to admit defeat soon and seek expert advice, subtle hint Rob. I've been trying to get decent pictures of them, brother's arm twisted digi cam acquired for indefinate period, b...

Been thinking about malawis for quite a while now. Looks like you're the man to talk to, may PM you at some point for some more info if that's ok. You should get your back seen to as problems in that area can be long term.

Gallery.

Hi Rob,

How about a gallery of everyones zebras. It would be nice to see who's got what and how many in a couple of clicks of the mouse instead of having to trawl through loads of posts. Just an

Hi Cascudo, Nice setup you have there. I too have heard that a dark substrate is beneficial for the fish and also enhances viewing pleasure. I can't say that I've noticed any difference in the behaviour of my fish since I got rid of my black gravel. I' m not totally against substrate, it's more of a...

Hi DANthirty, Congrats on your zebra purchase!!!! That's a good price you paid for your fish, mine cost me £100 each. I'm looking for some more now, have provisionally placed a deposit on another 4 fish pending inspection. This batch are up for £85 each, must grab what you can while they are still a...

Hi Tristan, Your're absolutely right, it's like a rugby scrum in my tank at feeding times. The Corys laze around most of the time until you put some food in the tank and then they suddenly come to life. The Sterbai are large and really tend to crash around when they feed, as you have correctly obser...

Hi Zeberdy,

Check out the thread that I started titled "Looking for Zebras". Some good supplier links have been supplied by the guys here. I have already reserved another 4 zebras pending inspection. You will be looking at upwards of £85.00 per fish. Good luck.

That's the one!! Except my ones pattern is a bit more wavy. I must post a picture so that we can lay this one to rest. I think it's a female as it is quite plump and the head shape is fairly "blunt".

Be very careful if you intend on using an airstone in a tank that is filtered by external canister filters. If the airstone gets any where near to the water uptake you'll end up with an air lock. It happened to me in a tank of large tinfoil barbs, they must have knocked the airstone loose. Luckily t...

I prefer bare bottomed tanks, all three of mine are set up this way. I have far fewer problems since I done away with substrate. I keep quite a few Corys and since moving over to no substrate their barbules have re-grown. Unless you use sand Corys barbules wil become eroded when they root around for...

My zebra's pattern is not that extreme, I wish it was though. That is an absolutely gorgeous fish. The pattern on my one is a bit wavy towards the head, It's definately different to the others as they have dead straight lines. I will post some pictures at some point once I've persuaded my brother to...

Looking for zebras.

I can't seem to find reasonably priced Zebras around my way. I've been quoted prices ranging from £100 to £170. Does anyone know of any decent suppliers?
