That is a CRAZY!!!!!   ...number of eggs!!! There must be around 300+!! How big is your female, she looks huge. My pair is the opposite of yours, with the male twice the size of the female. Mine spawned regularly every 3-4 weeks for months but have stopped recently. I think the...

Hi Diane,
Many congratulations!! Sounds like your efforts have been rewarded!
Any chance of a couple of young seeing as this spawn has orginated from one of my males!?
Its great to hear so many people are getting Zebras to spawn.

Hi Ken Many thanks for the picture. Sadly it looks like the adaptor is a screw fitting which I assume screws onto the tap? If this is the case I do not have taps that would allow this. If this is not correct please correct me. Shell, Your GH of 160 indicates hard water. The KH of 90 indicates the bu...

You need to plumb them in as you need mains pressure for the RO process to occur. You will also need a drainage point to take the waste water. As far as breeding, who knows, Des and I have answered your questions. Zebs appear to breed in most conditons. Concentrate on the following: 1) cave size 2) ...

In simple terms RO water is produced by forcing normal tap water through a membrane that is so fine that even oxygen is removed from the water, along with almost ALL other elements in water. You are then left with essentially 'pure' water. This is why you must oxygenate and add minerals and salts ab...

I use to visit Animal House a lot but my last 2-3 visits last year put me off. Lots of ill/even dead fish. But I agree, their selection is often very impressive. Lots of dwarf cichlids and plecs. Caldervalleykoi is worth a visit a few junctions (of the M62) west of Animal house. It takes a bit of fi...

Hi, The general rule of thumb with most tropical freshwater fish is more females than males. With Zebra plecs you will probably get one dominant male (depending on your size of tank). If you are sure you have one male and four females and have the GREAT opporunity to get some more zebras I would per...
