A Fellow Zebra Pleco Lover

Hey everyone; I found this site after searching for information on Zebra pleco's. I'm a moderator over at Aquatic Plant Central (dedicated towards aquascaping with plants) and a regular at Planted Tank and Reef Central, but this is the first forum I joined which is dedicated specifically to one magn...

But doesn't bare-bottom look un-natural? Thanks for motivation!

What food brands do you recommend? Do you think I have too much flow? Do you let the father tend to the fry or do you father them?

This is a great idea, but why did the thread die out? Is no-one longer willing to commit, etc.? I will soon recieve a young trio, but that would mean I would need to wait around 2 years before I get any fry. Anyone willing to exchange a juvenile male and female for a mature male and female? [H...

Things to Consider Before Breeding Zebra Pleco's

"The earliest that I have experienced L-046 reproduction is at 30 months. My F1's have spawned at an average of 36 months from birth. Is 30 months the minimum age? I don't k...

You mean Glosso, not grosso. ;) Also, Glosso needs fairly high light to form a nice carpet. E. tenellus var. 'micro' is a really nice grassy foreground plant and is faily easy to grow; I highly recommend it. But remember, that it is a smaller variation of the original E. tenellus. It is available he...

Sexing Juveniles

How old (what size in inches?) do juveniles have to be before they can be sexed? Do males always have "hairs" under their eyes, or is that only when they are mature? Thanks. :)

Do you test your gH and kH (directly affects pH) when doing water changes? I mean you should try to have those as close as possible to the tank water. Chloramine can easily removed by Seachem Prime; it neutralizes chloroine, chloramine, ammonia, and heavy metals. :) I've heard it is really hard not ...

Breeding Tank Setup

Hey fellow Zebrta pleco fanatics; I've been a long time admirer of this little fish, but unfortunately, after collecting them became outlawed in Brazil, their prices sky rocketed and continue to do so. But luckily I will manage to secure a trio (1 M:2 F) for a rather resonable price, so I will final...
