Re: What to do with a spawn
I still have my single fry in a tank on its own. All currently appears to be ok. The parents have not spawned again as of yet. Seems they only laid a few eggs last time considering I only got one baby !

Re: What to do with a spawn
Thanks for your reply Rod47. The young fry I lost last time must have been a fair age as it looked just like a mini zebra - way past the fry with an egg sack stage. I lost it about 3 days after I first saw it. The tank is quite a hostile environment as the zebras share with a ground of leopard frogs...

What to do with a spawn
Wonder if anyone can help. About 6 months ago I suddenly found a baby zebra in my tank. The tank has 3 zebras - one of which is pretty elderly and 4 leapard frog plecos. Sadly after about 4 days of spotting the youngster it died. It must have been a fair age because it looked like a real mini zebra....

Thats right the pumpkin  Sounds like you are adding some new technology to your tanks- just make sure you get a good flow rate with your filters- loosing two of my three zebras when I swapped to a filter with a lower flow rate than I had thought still is the worst day of my fishkeeping life

OAP Zebra
I was just thinking about the age of fish hence the title- OAP- Old Age Pensioner ! What is the accepted age of a long lived Zebra? A friend has had one for oh it must be 10 years - its always lived alone in a tank with some guppies or other standard fish never suffered any ills and still seems in f...

I like I guess alot of people get confused by the TDS thing. When you take water from the tap and check the TDS I guess your basically measuring hardness, minerals etc on the water. Once that tapwater is in your tank and it is having fish wastes etc added to it you have a much higher TDS over time. ...

Zebra Pleco.com adverts
I have visited this site for a while now and only just got round to signing up. I am very impressed that a number of forum members breed Zebra Plecs and it pleases me greatly to think they will survive even if not in the wild. Anyway my concerns- and its just a small one regarding the forum and site...
