Re: For those who feed with Mussels/Clams question
Hmmm, I might have to supplement with some Repashy, as I have heard nothing but good things about it, and the breeder who sold me my Zebras was feeding it too. However, I make my own beefheart food for Discus, and feed it in moderation to the Zebras and they eat that with relish, and since I can con...

Re: New to board from Toronto
Some years back, I was chatting with a a Zebra Pleco breeder whom I met at a local fish club auction, and remember him suggesting to put dithers in the tank, and said that Harlequins could stand the warm water, and stayed neat the top/middle so wouldn't bother the Zebras. Then I read it somewhere, a...

Re: Any ideas how I can collect Harlequin Rasbora eggs in my Zebra tank?
Thanks for the reply; I was considering the spawning mop as well, but I'm worried that it might tangle up the BN plecos I have in there (I've seen them get pretty tangled in the green nets when I net them out) not sure if that's an actual concern or not, but I may just hunt them down and remove them...

Any ideas how I can collect Harlequin Rasbora eggs in my Zebra tank?
I have a group of 10 Harlequins which spawn regularly in the roots of the Pothos plants I have in the tank. I am watching one pair right now repeatedly spawning. If I try to catch the pair, I will disrupt the tank, plus the likelyhood of actually catching those particular 2 fish is pretty low (they ...

For those who feed with Mussels/Clams question
Quick question, as to how do you prepare these foods? I bought a mesh bag of Mussels the other week and opened one up (live still) and found it was tough to distinguish what was meat (as opposed to when they are steamed, and the meat scrunches up into a ball when cooked). I scraped out what I though...

New to board from Toronto
Hey everyone, long-time reader of this board, and just now registered (thanks again Julian) :) I have been wanting to get these beautiful fish for over 20 years now, but their cost made me very hesitant to take the chance on not killing them - 20 years ago they were going for $60 a piece and I thoug...
