Any shots of the full tank? I also see Cories in there. Tank looks really nice and clean! I'll try to get a descent photo' of the whole tank tomorrow. Yes the Cory's you see are 4 Sterbai Cory's. There's also a few Pygmaeus & Hastatus Cory's both a few years old now plus some Ember, Green Neon ...

Re: New Housemates !!
You're probably right about the Discus eating Zebra fry, I'm not sure but there's never been any sign of the Zebras spawning so far. If they do start I'll have to decide what to do.

Re: Zebra Pleco
I'm not a fan of keeping only one of a species except for a few types of fish. Most fish are found in large numbers, so like the company of each other. I have 8 Zebras in a 5 foot aquarium and 6 of them congregate together amongst a set of caves in the middle of the aquarium. They don't exactly cudd...

Re: Water Quality
Hi Zach. I've had Zebras for about 18 months now. Originally I kept them in RO water with low lighting but got fed up with the constant stress of supplying RO. I started with an RO filter then tried buying the water but it was a real crap job. I then decided to gradually convert back to tap water an...

Re: Zebra size & age rules
Thanks for the reply. I'm not too worried about the breeding side ...... My Zebra's are in my community aquarium with a selection of other fish, so if they breed it's up to them 8) . I am just interested in how old mine may be. I bought 3 at 1.5 inches last October and 2 at 1 inch a month later. ( F...

Zebra size & age rules
Hi, Sorry if this is covered somewhere but I have done a search & cannot find the specific info that I want : Does anyone have a rough guide to the size of a Zebra pleco for it's age. I know they will all grow at different rates but there must be a rough way to know the age by the size until the...

Re: Group of adult zebras - some Q's if you dont mind
Hi Kirsty, I didn't plan to use 2 filters. I bought a larger aquarium and my original Fluval 306 wasn't man enough so I bought a Fluval 406. After running the aquarium for a few weeks I just thought "why leave the 306 in the shed just in case I need it in the future when I can just add it to th...

Re: Group of adult zebras - some Q's if you dont mind
Hi Kirsty, I'm not a breeder or specialist keeper of zebras but I have a group of 5 zebras in my 5 foot community aquarium. They love live bloodworm, obviously, but they also go mad for Tetra Plec pellets and King British catfish pellet food. In fact they seem to eat anything! I think you are feedin...

Re: Hi from the UK - new tank setup

Re: anyone use lights in tank ? with zebs
I have 5 Zebs in a 5 foot aquarium with 2 x L129 & some Ember Tetras, Green Neons, & Mountain Minnows + 8 pygmy corydoras. The lights turn on at 1130 and off at 2300. Watching the zebs I have noticed that they come out of thier Caves most when the lights are on. I have watched when the light...

Strong Water Flow ?
Hi, I have 3 Zebras in a 190 litre aquarium with the usual caves, a piece of bogwood, a large Amazon sword plant & sand substrate. The aquarium is filtered with a Fluval 406 running at max power( 1450 lph.) The thing is most of the time the Zebras stay fairly well hidden but the other night I sw...

Re: About to get 1st Zebras
Thanks for that reply. Yes I knew they were snub nose, I was told that before I bought them but they were 5 times cheaper than the normal price ( £30 ) & my wife still thinks they look cute! I didn't think they looked under fed though. They are looking good at the moment, very active in ...
