Re: PH/GH/KH issues

Just to comment about your reply to my post, a fellow hobbyist has Zebras and has had them for the past 15 years spawing in high ph water, one of my concerns when I wanted a few of these plecos was the ph, he said in the time he has been breeding them in the same ph water as I have he has never had ...

Re: PH/GH/KH issues

I love this topic, I have the same ph water of 8.2 as yourself. My gosh have I killed many fish by doing what you are wanting to do and that is lower the PH. I can only tell you my stories you can try it if you wish I will never ever do it again after killing 3 of my 5 shrimp as of late. Years ago I...

Re: Group of adult zebras - some Q's if you dont mind

I have my 2 zebras with an Aqua Clear Filter running and the most important part is the airstone. This was one of my big faults first time around with these fish when I lost one of them wont do that again. With the higher temps they really need more oxygen in the water, an airstone is a great additi...

Re: Zebra Plec - Not Growing

Growing Zebras is like growing a beautiful Bonsai, it takes much patience as I have found... :D I use wood dowling sticks in all my tanks instead of using my hands, its great you might want to get some so you can move food around that way. I feed Repashy foods to my zebras and they are doing amazing...

Just a question about this, is it alright to remove the eggs from the nest and rear them yourself in a seperate tank?

Re: fish in very poor state after recent trapping help !!!

Oh my best of luck to you. I just had my albino bristlenose male do this very same thing to one of the females. She looked like this but worse as she has the long fins, she grew some horrible hairy stuff on the areas where the scales were missing in the quaratine tank I had her in but she did not su...

Re: zebra growth

Okay, thank.... :)

I know they are not very big plecos when full grown so as long as their eating and still alive I guess all is well. They are just a year old so in the next few years they should have some growth to them.

Thanks again.... :D

zebra growth

In April I bought 2 young zebras, from that time I have noticed no growth in them at all. Is this normal? They are currently in a 10 gal tank with some Amano Shrimp and 2 Zebra Snails. I have tried veggies for them many times they will not touch it. So I am feeding: NLS Thera A pellets, Hikari sinki...

Re: pleco question

Just an update on my zebra pleco. I did not have very good success from the first breeder with my pleco arriving live. Both times one was sent they came to me dead. My money was refunded and I luckily found a very wonderful breeder that has provided me with not one but 2 lovely young zebras. I hope ...

feeding a young zebra

Have some questions and concerns with getting "one" baby zebra. This young zebra will be between 1 1/2 - 13/4" insize larger ones are just to expensive for me. I have no desire to breed these fish but enjoy the beauty of having one in my current tank that is home to L134 and a long fi...

Re: pleco question

Thanks for the reply, very much appreciated. I will only be getting on zebra due to the cost, but have 2 other types of plecos in the tank as well. At this time I only have wood in there but can put some slate in there no problems. My one L134 loves his piece of wood he just loves and thats his home...

pleco question

Hi, soon I will be getting my new zebra pleco. I don't have access to those pleco caves that everyone uses so what should I be looking for so my new baby has a nice home he/she can grow into?

Should it be closed at one end?
What size and shape should it be?

Cheers..... :D

Hello

Hello everyone, I am from Canada. In the next week or so I will be getting my first L046 and cannot wait. They are such beautiful fish and outstanding plecos to look at as well. I wish I could afford a nice colony of them but one is better than none. I also have one L134 and a few Long Fin Albino Pl...
