Blue @ Exoticfinds, NJ

I just wanted everyone to know that Blue @ Exoticfinds was quite helpful during the purchase of several L046 Zebra Plecos. I was able to purchase a group of ten fish from him at a very good price. All of them arrived in excellent shape yesterday, single bagged in two 3 mil baggies with bag buddies. ...

moonlights are usually very weak LED lights that can be added to a canopy or retrofitted to a hood. I remember when they became en vogue with reef keepers about five years ago over at www.reefcentral.com. The theory is, the moon does reflect a certain amount of sunlight (called albedo, 0.39 to be ex...

Hey, someone else who owns the Kent Deion 200-R. :) I love mine. I had a Kent Hi-S R/O unit for years but it produces too much wastewater when you're dealing with a large number of tanks, and/or tanks with a lot of water volume. The Kent Deion 200-R was a godsend to my water bill. Another good filte...

This diet sounds so similar to Ocean Nutrition's Cichlid Vegi formula. I feed a 1:1 mix of Cichlid omni to cichlid vegi flakes to a lot of my small to medium sized African cichlids. Check out the ingredients list: "A fresh Seafood Mix, including (Salmon Fillets, Euphasusia pacifica Plankton, Sq...

Heh. I've even read articles where breeders used those old plastic round 35mm film canisters as zebra plec breeder caves.

I'm pretty sure that any 1" to 2" diameter dark artificial cave (or black PVC pipe) will work.

Although I do like hamish's drilled out slate rock. :)

Multiple tank options, help!

Hey guys. I'm going to be setting up a home for a group of juvenile L046's and I have several tank options open to me at the moment. I'm looking for setup recommendations and stocking levels for these fish for a standard 48" long rectangular 55 gallon aquarium as a display tank. If necessary, I...

The 185 tank

Thanks guys, glad to be here :). Umm the 185 gallon tank has been up and running for about a month now. I was able to get away with it by using three packets of bio-spira and a week's worth of fishless cycle before all of the ammonia and nitrite were at zero. I've got to hand it to marineland labs, ...

Greetings from the Carolinas

Hey ya'll. Just wanted to introduce myself. I live on the Carolina coast and i've been in the hobby for about 25 years now. I'm glad I found your forums, they look very well designed and maintained. I usually hang out over at www.petfish.net and www.reefcentral.com. I'm starting to get more interest...
