Re: Reducing PH level

After a bit more research i have found SEACHEM NEUTRAL REGULATOR and also some peat balls, these are both said to lower ph to 7 or lower.

Also have been told that having my powerhead with the venturi on wont help as it may increase the ph.

Any other suggestions would be welcomed.

Reducing PH level

I have my 2 ft tanks setup with my 4 zebra Plec's in it.

The temp is 31 and the TDS is 130.

My problem is tht the PH is 7.9-8.

I am using RO water mixed with normal tap water at around 85%/15%

How can i reduce my PH

I am using an external eheim filter and powerhead inside.

Re: new to plecos, Tank setup

So would you recommend i change out some of the water so maybe mix 70% Ro water to 30% tap, this will increase my Ph i think so i will need to get something to reduce this.

Anyone from the uk with Hard tap water, what do you use?

I did check the tds and it was about 380ppm

I also do have a RO unit i use for my orchids, would a 50/50 mix work best or just mix it untill i get to 6.5PH

Re: new to plecos, Tank setup

I will get a testing kit for gh/kh/ph and post the results. So would an internal filter be ok, I have read that a larger filter is recommended to turn the water over quicker, what sort ofr l/ph should i be aiming for in a 125l tank? Also if i get a power head should it be on the same side as the fil...
