Re: dissolved oxygen
I think my take on this is that you should stick to what the manual suggest. As in use a power head with a tub that draws in the air to aerate you tank. It's not so simple as increasing the dissolved oxygen and your fish will breed. Currents also plays a role. If it was that simple, then my zebras t...

Wild zebra pleco import question.
Hello, Just wondering if you guys notice that there has been any wild zebra plecos imported to your local store recently? I am not %100 sure that they are wild because the store owner is BSing alot of excuses about them being captive breed. But I suspect that they are wild because they are consisten...

There's no true limits to the size of a tank. But if possible, get the bigest you can get and work your way down. Your observation is the most important factor. Even with 2 females and 1 male can not gaureentee a disaster free senario. There is a matriache hierachy as well as a alpha male hierachy. ...

But have you guys notice that all the pellet food doesn't seem to provide the proper nutrition for the zeb? For example, with frozen blood worm. I get close to 18 - 24 eggs per batch. But for the past year, I've switch to pellet food,, but have found that the zeb seems to be missing something. Eggs ...

In addition, another point I'd like to point out is that in an event of a genetic deformtie, it may not be so visible when it happened. Say on your F3. You could've been walking down several generations before it becomes so obvious that you start to see this happening to all your fry. Like in F5 or ...

This is a really tough topic. I do agreed with TwoTankAmin on many points. But one thing I disagree on is that, I think by the time you hit the 5th generations, it may have been too late to do much to undo the damage (defects). Also, I suspect that there is a high probabilty of interbreeding in the ...
