If you can ever catch them on video that would be fun to watch!

Nice, they seem to like the smallest space they can fit into :)

Re: anyone use lights in tank ? with zebs

I am going to mention that my male has gotten quite used to the flashlight shined into his cave from time to time. They are like most other fish and adapt quite well to most anything.

Re: anyone use lights in tank ? with zebs

I think that if you want to turn on the tank light for an hour or 2 a day to watch them I think they would be ok with that. I keep mine un-lit, they just get light from all the other tanks in my fish room.

Re: water still goin brown from bog wood

 wow! My R/O only takes it down to 15  So I guess I am not insane for doing up to 75% water changes on them with just R/O water :o

Re: bare bottom or subtrate ? which is best

I have noticed that the zebras like making little pits in the sand in their hiding spots, and that's why I gave them sand when I changed their tanks.

Re: water still goin brown from bog wood

They don't mind the tannins one bit though.
If you feel the need you can pull the wood out and put it in a pot of water and bring it to a boil then turn it off, let it cool and drain the water. Repeat till the water ends up a very light weak tea color and that's about as good as you will get it.

Re: water still goin brown from bog wood

Carbon will reduce it some. Tannins are kind of a personal taste thing, some folks love it some hate it, fish are fine either way.

Re: what food is best for zebera plecs ??

Be sure to get the 'thera a' it has garlic added in and that's a good appetite enhancer and also helps ward off parasites.
