Giant Ottos

Hi guys, I've read that a lot of people keep Ottos with Zebs to clean up the tank without disturbing breeding and feeding. The only ones I can find locally are called Giant Ottos. Are these ok with zebs or do I really want the dwarf veriety? The giant ones are about the ame size as the Zebs. Cheers ...

Thanks for your advice. The problem I have is that it's a bare bottom tank and this made a bit of a stone skate board when I put the slate on the round caves. But Ive put some heavy driftwood pieces on top which has stabalised them pretty safely. My Zeb seems to like the extra canopy also and it's l...

Thanks for all of your comments guys, sorry TTA I didn't spot your note before I asked again.

I've ordered a moonlight kit to see how he's getting on in the tank overall when he's awake, should be interesting.

Having said that, do you think they ever sleep?

I don't want to sound unnapreciative but I did want to know if the light on the heater would disturb them if it came on at night and I don't think that's been directly answered. Any ideas?

Pilot light on Heater?

Hi It's only just occured to me that the pilot light on the heater in my Zeb tank must be coming on and going off every five minutes and probably seems like a lighthouse in the living room for them. Anyone else know if this may be a problem or not? Anyone bred with one of these in he tank? (maybe th...

Hi,

I purchased mine 3 weeks ago from a guy who had about 100 but I think they have all been sold now. There are no zebs on eBay at the mo which paints a picture.

Thanks again that's a relief to know. The cheque is in the post.

I had the pleasure of seeing him exlplorethe new tank for the first time this week in the almost darkness at about midnight. It was fascinating to watch. I think he needs some zeb company once I get the tank right.

Hi Jerry, thanks again for the advice, it's starting to seem more like counselling now. Anyway you'll be pleased to hear I have another query, I'm just a bit worried about his eating habbits; How long should the Corguette be in there before I take it out? Most of the tetra prima and bloodworm I've p...

Thanks very much for those comments Jerry that's set ne at ease a little.

Where abouts in Kent are you based? I think the tap water would be pretty much the same so if you have any tips on how you treat your water it would be a great help with all the information I have to process.
