There was a powerhead in there that supplied oxygen; the filter (intank Whisper) would further break up the bubbles and push them down in the water.
I'd had them on that setup for two and half years with no problems. Maybe it really did get REALLY hot.

Lost all three- heater problem question
My dad sat me down over the weekend (long story, he has my tanks in NC and I go to school in NY... we were at my mom's house in FL) and told me there was a heater malfunction that took all three of my Zebras. They all died together around the same time, so that sounds like what it was to me, but how...

Growth Rate?
In your experiece, about how fast do Zebs grow?
I've had a trio for a little over a year now; they're about 1.5 years old. Last January when I got them, they were about 1.5" long. Now they're between 2-2.5"- is that normal, or should they be larger?
My little guys are really fat too

Thinking of Redecorating in the Zeb Tank
I've had my three Zebras for over 2 months now and have found the tank maintenance to be very difficult. The sand makes it very hard for me to suck up anything and it ends up just being a mess. I was thinking of replacing the sand with some fine black gravel. My thoughts are that the gravel will 1) ...

Zebra Aggression
I've got 3 Young Zebras... about 3cm each. I've had them for about 3 weeks now, and they've been really nipping each other up. They all lived fine together with the breeder, but now, I can barely keep them together. My tank has quite a few cave-like hiding spots for them, and I usually keep the ligh...

Too young to tell?
I got home from Pittsburgh last night with my first 3 Zebra Plecos I can see why you all love them so much!
But are they too small to determine gender? I tried to take a picture, but it came out a little blurry.

Zebras and another pleco?
I haven't gone up to Pittsburgh yet to get my Zebras, but I'm starting to set up the tank for them. I was reading up on my L260 today and saw that, according to the site, she wasn't going to get any bigger. She's only about 3.5 inches, and very very shy. From what I've read, Zebras and Queen Arabesq...

Play Sand?
I was looking for sand today so I could start working on my 20 gallon setup, and I was asking some people at another forum about what to use. 90% of the answers said to use normal play sand, but just to rinse it very well. Since you're all the Zebra experts here, I've decided to check it all out wit...
