Thanks for the welcome everyone.
Four of them are doing very well. One died about 48 hours after I got them. I think he was just so stressed. I have had them almost 3 weeks now and the other 4 have settled in and are doing great now.

Yeah I considered the pros and cons for gravel, sand, and a bare tank. Seems none are perfect. Sand was not an option in this tank because I have definite currents. I have read on this site that with currents, the food does not stay still with a bare bottom for them to eat, but gravel allow it to ge...

So i got them today. They are A LOT smaller than they had been sold as, so maybe they can't be sexed yet. they range from just under 2 inches to just under 2 1/4 inches. Here are pictures just before they went into their new tank. They are pale in the pictures from almost a day of travel and all, bu...

My guess all male and they need a good feed Hmmm.. that would be very very disappointing. Are you just basing it on the body shape being more V, because I assumed this was because they were on the thin side. I was thinking the one all the way on the left looks to be a female even with the thin body...

Feedback and Advice for my first Zebra Tank
This is my first zebra tank and so I would like to know if how I have it set up will be good, or whether I should change anything :?. I get my 5 zebras (looks like 2 males and 3 females; 2.25 to 3 inches) on Tuesday (3 days from now). Here is the setup: 20 gallon long fine round gravel substra...

Hi
Hi Everyone, I have been lurking around (with 1 post a while ago and 2 in the last week), but now have 5 Zebras coming in under a week... I am super excited! Most of my current tanks are African Rift Lake Cichlids and although I have kept various plecos, this will be my first breeding group (at leas...

Are there Zebra Plecos in Columbia?
So I have an offer to buy wild caught Zebra Plecos. When I asked about how they got them out of Brazil, they said they came from Columbia but assured me they were L046? I have to make a decision pretty quickly as I am sure he will find someone else to buy them soon otherwise. Could they be real? I s...

Apistos and Zebras
Hi I was considering a tank with zebra plecos and apistogrammas (most likely pandoras). Has anyone had success with such a mix. Is there any reason it won't work? Would both sets have a chance at breeding?
