I've been keeping 3 Orinoco Altums with my L46 for more then a year now without any problems.
Like you said, once the food disappears between the rocks the angles won't bother going after it.
I did create a few open places for the angels to look for food though.
good luck with your plans!

Re: About to get 1st Zebras
Hello & welcome to the forum!
Would just like to point out all 3 have snubnoses, are you aware.
They also look like they haven't been fed properly, make sure you provide enough shelter in their new home and provide enough food!
Good luck!

Re: I think im done
Providing enough cover is indeed essential as TTA pointed out. My tank is setup with an open space on the left side and rocks on the right side. The open space is occupied by a few Altums and when I feed them(during the day) the zebras even come out of their hiding places to feed. It's absolutely st...

Re: Bloated zebra
I've actually had a zebra with these symptoms, happened in the LFS probably due to a combination of bad food, stress and wrong water parameters. I managed to save it by putting it into another tank with a noticeably lower ph(6.5). The tank was very dark with many hiding places, after less the 24hour...
