Hi

There is a thread somewhere on here posted by Channett, fish had the same symptoms, it was treated and got better. Perhaps somebody who is more computer literate can track this thread down. I have also seen these symptoms on Royals and Gold Nuggets, as Barbie says the tumours disappeared without any...

Hi again

Thank you for the link John. From what I read here, it does equate to a generation. But lets put things into context. This could apply to Guppys traits of which you may see in 2 that you want to develop, this may be some 40 or 50 generations from the wild caught, but for the purpose of genetics and ...

Hi

F1 = Wild caught So breeding WC with F1's will produce F1's. If you collected one brood from the wild and bred them you would get F2's. If you breed unrelated F1's you will get F1's. I know many people use the F system to indicate generation, IMO this originates from people misunderstanding the F sy...

Hi

Guess I'll answer this in the context of the post rather than just the title. I too sell at below the market rate, bred about 200 now and one female that I sold and bred has now bred. I do know that quite a few of the fish I have sold are no longer with the people I sold them to. They have been move...

Re 236 sale

The info at the moment is that there have been more than one group imported. They live below a waterfall and divided into separate pools and the colours vary from pool to pool, and from fish to fish. Guess it will lead to as much confusion as the fish ID'd as L333, but more incentive to confuse here...

Hi

Personally I wouldn't breed from that female, unless you know the answer as to whether snubnoses are environmental or genetic.

Take care

Hi again

Regarding a limited range. Daniel Machado who works for the IBAMA, and is also a member of this site, perhaps could give an indication of the range of this fish. In addition Sojapat who used to post on this site, regularly imports fish for his shop, directly from the Xingu and Tapajos. He has also v...

Hi again

Just a quick note.

Due to the availability of, or lack of availability F1's and F2's should be just fine, but as more become available it should be possible to introduce new blood lines.

Take care

Hi

Genetics is not my strong point, but my understanding is that if you breed a perfect specimen of any species to a perfect specimen of a brother or sister, the likelihood is that the offspring will not have what we perceive to be abnormalities. Breeding related fish will emphasise any unusual charact...

Hi

I have a feeling that the vendor is Imer.

If this is the case then there are plenty of posts regarding this guy on this site, so a search on this site and make up your own mind.

From what I recall he is not allowed to post on this site due to a number of problems arising.

Take care

Hi again

Just an example, Aluminium which has been linked to Alzheimers disease, and many of us have pans made out of this, is soluble to Alakalis but not Acids, so when boiling your vegetables best to know which produce alkaline or acidic water.

Take care

Hi

Well here goes If you search on copper, it seems mcEve lost a lot of fish following the installation of new copper pipes, and looking at the thread you started on pleco fanatics, or maybe here, other people have only lost shrimp. Shrimp are a bit more sensitive to Copper. A lot depends on the PH of ...

Hi all

Dear Andrew and SmithRC First of all after reading the posts again, I did state all along camera angles can be deceptive and requested other opinions after the thread started getting lively. As for snub noses the jury is still out. I now have 6 snub noses, 5 of which I purchased, big mistake, they a...

Hi

Well here I have stated an opinion and the s*** hit the fan. If an individual thinks it's personal, then so be it, it's not, but people can interpret things however they want, freedom of speech and thankfully more so freedom of thought. Most impotantly, Paul who started the thread, how does he feel?...

Hi

I agree with Barbie, that people who keep Zebras, know people who keep Zebras, and have ongoing relationships (Yes even me), and degrees of trust are built up. Secondly, if you have male L46's an alternative approach may be to buy a group of juveniles and wait for the females to grow up. I say this ...
