Just an update... sadly it's probably just a practice run... they are now back to living individually...

I have since added some number of juvenile zebras to the tank... means no blood worms for a while too ( i believe blood worms will stimulate breeding)

There are now 2 zebras(not sure if its the same pair) in a third cave.. the second cave has been vacated (although there was one zebra hanging nearby).... First cave remains occupie...

Update... after 1 and a half day in the cave (Cave A), both occupants left... Cave A was later reoccupied (I assume by the same dominant zebra who has been living there for a while) but no eggs :( There are now 2 zebras in an adjacent cave deeper in the tank (Cave B). I had the opportunity to observ...

Sharing a cave...

I noticed that two of my zebras have started to share a cave... they are current 2.5 to 3inches unsexed.... I have reasons to believe that one of them is the dominant fish that is always in the cave (same cave) and hope for a pair... now how long to wait before I know if anything will happen? Can I ...

I feed sparingly and the tank houses a large number of cherry shrimps that serve as clean up crew. The tank is powered by 2 cannister filters. and I do a water change is once a week...

Its not so difficult to clean so far...and i sure do hope I am not wrong about it...

General Care Questions - Growing out Zebras / Tankmates

I may be able to get a number of young zebras sized at about 1 inch. As they are still fairly expensive, I would like to know if they are stable and easy to grow out from this size or if I should wait for larger ones to appear in the market? And also what larger sizes should I be looking at? These w...
