thanks, I dont live near any IKEA but maybe my local kitchen shop may do something similar. I have tried the digital ones in lfs but it did not last long (think I splashed some water on it.) so I just use the old fashioned ones.

congrats on spawning anyway, first spawns are often difficult or fail because parents are inexperienced. so hopefully they will get it right next time. if you so any water change, warm some of the water in kettle and mix in a bucket to right temp before adding. I think the parents will spawn again w...

Hi, sorry no one seems to have replied, perhaps becasue they cannot offer any ideas. I think growths are difficult to cure and need speicialist surgery. if only the snubs getting it this would suggest a genetic disposition. let us know how they get on. good luck

so sorry! sad to lose any fish.
dont know what the dark mark is, may be internal bleeding or infection or tumour? did he go suddenly or had he been ill for a while?
if not sure, I would add some pimafix to make sure any infection in the water is killed (unless you have UV?)

As long as its real slate and not man made roofing substitute, it is fine from a builder. be wary of shape edges might need to file, thats all.

Hi, what temperature are they at? , because that can affect rate of growth too. but remember the warmer you have the tank the less oxygen water holds so need airiation with it.

Hi, I would add some melafix. this is a natural plant extract rather than chemicals and it promotes healing and prevents infection. Also when you release him back into the tank, change the position of the caves and slates, so to break up existing territory, otherwise he will walk straight back into ...

they may well take a few days before they eat, due to all the strangeness etc. dont wory unless they have sunken bellies. sounds like you are doing the right thing and offer a range of foods. do you know they the supplier was feeding them on?

sorry you lost them, what a shame. I often give mine frozen , defrosted, washed, prawn, in a clip. but it is not 'raw' prawn, I used the pink ones which have actually been cooked before freezing. like we would eat in a salad. was it one of those you used? or was it really raw as in grey colour, unco...

well my zebs have not bred yet, but when I bred BNs and had a clutch of eggs kicked out , possibly because most were infertile, I put the bundle in a net. there were some fertile and some infertile, but the egg mass was well stuck together so I thought it was a bit dangerous to try and split them. S...
