Joby - My sentiments exactly! She's a little trooper and shows no sign of giving up. She's still there, waiting for her chance to get into the cave. Alsbeth - Thanks for your words of encouragement. Good to know someone else has experienced the same, especially when it ended up with them spawning. H...

Thanks Jo, All the males are around the same age( approx 3 years , maybe a little over) but this guy is definitely the biggest . My little lady just rocks back and forward she's so fat. It can only be 3 or 4 weeks since I put this little group together, so I guess they are still getting used to each...

Hi TTA, Thank you for your words of wisdom ! Deep down I know patience is the key, but I just can't help being excited . I'll leave well alone and just wait and see what happens . At least something is starting to happen and, with a bit of luck, it won't be too long before he works it out. She may e...

Thanks Andrew, That's very encouraging ! I have sat ( stiff as a board ) and watched her efforts. She's tried about every approach there is ..... either side of him, above him and even tried to squeeze underneath him, but he simply refuses to let her in . She does seem to get a bit fed up and moves ...

Is he too young ?
Hi, The behaviour of my young group is really confusing ! They are all 3'' or more and live together without any major fights. Only a few scuffed stripes here and there, but I had put that down to them settling down and sorting out the 'pecking order'. This is the confusing bit ..... for about the l...

I might be way off the mark here ..... but L236 males have full body odontodes while L333 males only have more pronounced odontodes around the head and pectoral fins. My male is covered, tip to toe, with odontodes. Although he doesn't resemble the pics on ' planetcatfish ' , he is very, very, like pic...

Hiya, I have the Pro 3 2080 on a large discus tank. The clarity and water quality is excellent but the noise ( drone ) is driving me insane. Done all the usual checks : trapped air, kinks/obstructions in the pipework, overloaded media, ill fitting baskets, faulty impeller/shaft, impeller housing.......

Did you do it ? I'd love to post some pics of all my fish.......I don't know how to.Sad I know. I do intend bu...

Hi Smithrc, and thanks I have a 30x12x15 or a 36x15x18 I could use for them.Been searching around and don't seem able to find a great deal of info on them at all. That's why I hoped someone here could keep me right. Would BB be better than sand? Loads of nooks and crannies to hide in and a couple of ...

L236......A little advice please
Hi Guys, Got a group of these lovely plecs last year and am now looking to try and breed them. I have kept only 2 as my male would only allow one other anywhere near him. I'm no expert, but it does look female. My questions are : what size of tank for these 2 ? would B.D. Aquarium Sand be Ok ? Any po...

Hi again, I agree with you about the tank - very user friendly. I have the Eheim 2324 (thermo),Huey Hung sponge filter( the little zebs absolutely love under it) and the filter that came with it.I also have a Jaeger 150w heater.I have the 2324 set a few degrees lower than the Jaeger and use this as ...
