Most often fish seized by local authorities are usually destroyed. Hopefully since they are indemic to the country seizing them one would hope that they are returned to the wild or at least handed over to scientists for study without destroying the fish. However my trust of Brazil and IBAMA are at a...

You should be able to insure your fish under your household policy as an additional rider. They will only usually cover accidential death such as death resulting from a major power outage, destruction of the tank etc. They will not cover death due to a fish jumping out of the tank, disease, natural ...

Most places I have talked to that are selling fry will not sell them under 3.5cm SL. In part they do this as they are not as fragile at that size and are more easily adaptable to new tanks (or so they say)

there is scientific eveidence out there that brood sizes have a tendency to decrease in overpopulated areas of wildlife, furthermore the more over-crowded it is the less of the young that will make it to adulthood due to competition for food.

The comment I made was more in jest than anything. I currently have 1 zeb and am awaiting an order of 4 more... just is taking time. Canada has no current import restrictions on aquarium trade fish for personal use. Although that will be changing later on this year supposedly. The difficulty with ge...

Welcome from a fellow Canuck. L46 are very rare up here in the frozen north. Maybe one of these days they rest of the world will figure out that we have actually discovered heating and that we have moved out of our igloos into real houses  and allow us to import some of their wonderful animals :P
