Luckily the new youngsters were not added to the group. strangely enough I was discussing this with the guy who does the breeding together with me, I was really hesitating to do so, incase of disease, or what so ever.. I'm glad I didn't. But in the future I wil...

How lucky can you be.. last month we got 37 youngsters in total.. Today, a heater screwed up the temperature in another tank. As a result 6 dead adults (luckily only males, if you can say luck). BUT also 27 youngesters of about 3 cm's :(:( feel really sad... on the other side, I'm still happy with t...

well if I knew that, I would probably get the other tanks to breeding as well.. It could be due to several reasons: the sex ratio in the group (could be quite some females I don't know by hart because when we sexed them some of them were hard to sex) Or the lack of a big alpha male in this tank so m...

water changes consist of 30 -50% at least every two days for a timeperiod of 7 to 8 days, we tried with freshly prepared osmotic water (but the zebra's didn't react to that) so we switched back to regular tap water pH is around 7.1 and relatively soft at leasst much to soft for the frontosa's in ano...

actually tank 1 & 3 are closest to a window so these get most of the daylight. The light above tank 2& 4 has been there only since a few months (no spawns before adding the extra light) groups consists of 8 to 10 specimens with at least (as I think at least 2 females 4 males and some of whic...

mayde a error:
tank 1, only daylight (continuous spawns)
tank 2 daylight +extra light (1 spawn)
tank 3 only daylight (2 spawns)
tank 4 daylight +extra light (no spawns).

I can remove the light from tank 2& 4 and see what happens.

multiple tanks: one with success three without ,any ideas?

Hi I've been away for a while, have been really busy with work. But know it was time to come back to the forum for some ideas of other people. The situation is as follows: I have 4 tanks with zebra's (all of the roughly the same age and all zebra's have been kept by me for more than 1.5 years roughl...

Interesting topic I must say... I don't think it will be a problem. I know several people that breed for instance BN pleco's. Most of them are not wildcaught but raised in tanks.. separated from the male after laying. Also these offspring breed in a natural way. So I don't think (but not 100% sure) ...
