Bushy noses grow much quicker than Zebras. I keep young (1/2"+) bushies in with adult and young zebras but rotate them back out of the tank after a month or two because they grow so quickly. Are you asking if they need to be treated with worms? Or if they're used to eating worms? In any case, e...

I have roots of these plants in a couple of my tanks too. You can take a cutting anywhere from the main plant, stick the end in water, and it'll start growing roots too. It's the cuttings that I started in my tanks, not the original soil-bound plant.

Well, at least I know I have a female

She'd been in and out of the cave for about the last two weeks. Yesterday evening there were some eggs, but looks like they weren't fertilized.

Question: does this count as one spawn but with zero fry for the register?

That's pretty standard for Zebras. They'll be more active after lights out.

So's GE Silicone I. whats so good about that type???! It's not advertised as aquarium safe. It's sold in US hardware stores for a fraction of the price you'll pay if you go to your LFS and ask for aquarium safe silicone. I believe (although I could be wrong) that the advertising thing is because Al...

I know who Jack Wattley is, but unless there is scientific proof, a theory is just a theory. If that proof exists, I'm always willing to learn. Given that it doesn't affect fish in the wild, why would mother nature give the fish this ability? It would serve no purpose. Producing a hormone that slows...

I don't believe the hormone theory. In nature, in a huge river, such hormones wouldn't hang around long enough to affect any of the fish near the fish allegedly producing them. I think the size thing is more simply: the bigger the fish the more chance it probably has at getting the food. Splitting u...

Nice fish/fry (in the other thread).

Whereabouts in West Sussex? I was grown out in Sussex, mostly Burgess Hill.

There was another female trapped in a cave last night.
I'm not going to harass 'em so it'll be a while before another update :)

:P

Who can say what the issue was.. One day there were eggs, another day there weren't. Maybe they weren't fertilized this go round, maybe the male got spooked and had caviar.

Went as I'd expected: nothing doing. My experience with fish is: if they'll spawn once they'll keep at it. I can wait.
