Seja bem vindo!

I am also interested about the ban on capturing and how the zebra population in the wild is doing.

In which quantities are you going to breed zebra's?

Hi all, I have been away a long time. Sorry about that. My zebra's are still going strong. Although I never see all 9 at the same time, I suppose that they are all still there (my tank is too zebra-friendly, they can hide very easily in the aqua scape based on rocks, but they seem very satisfied tho...

My experience with tank mates (Rasboras, shrimps and a Betta

I received from a member a pm asking about the maintenance of my tank and the tank mates that are seen on the picture of my tank that is displayed in the gallery of this site. maybe my response is also of any use to other members: I noticed that for some reason any tank that I keep zebra's tend to h...

I agree with above replies With this tankmates a zebra pleco certainly would become very shy and consequently wouldn't manage to feed properly as the more boisterous fish would eat everything before the zebra has even the courage to come near. Also you have to realize that your son and you probably ...

Thank you! The compliments go to my wife, who did the aqua scaping. :D There is one PVC tube that served before as a breeding cave. At the moment the alfa male doesn't seem very interested though. Probably because there is an abundance of hiding places. The zebras seem to be really happy! Because th...

Zebra pictures at last

It have been some time that I have been on this forum... Here are finally some pictures of my 4 adults and their offspring, just before being released in their new tank (Juwel Trigon 190 liters). I will post pictures of the tank later on. http://www.gvandiepen.demon.nl/zebras/4%20adult%20zebras2%20(...

Indeed I wrote lately that I changed black gravel by fine, light coloured sand. The problem with my black gravel however was not the colour. The problem was that it had sharp edges on it. When I was keeping corydoras on this substrate all their barbels worn away. Also the plants wouldn't grow on thi...

I do have 8 ottocinclus affinus with the zebras now. They don't seem to compete with the zebras. When I throw sinking tablets in the tank, they seem to eat indirectly from it by scavencing the substrate around it, but they don't attack directly the tablets. Funny behaviour, but it gives the zebras a...

The Rasbora hengeli don't. That is for sure, they are in there for half a year and besides that they are absolutely peaceful, they don't even come close to the bottom, so they don't even have any encounter with the zebras. For the cherry barbs I am indeed not so sure, they seem to be more agressive....
