Oh yes, you did mention him - he's fab. I still find it difficult to sex them because when you look in the gallery for 'definate male' mine just don't look like males although they are three and a half years old now. (checked my log)

How old is yours?

Hi Smithrc

Thanks for your input, this gives me hope. One is always in a cave the other is always under the bogwood although there is plenty of other caves he/she could go into.

Neither look very hairy - just have to wait and see - I still find them very difficult to sex from looking at them.

Thanks for your help, at least I know now that I need a female!

The two younger ones won't be mature for some time yet.

I have moved them into a 240 litre - plenty of caves, plenty of room for more!! They seem to have settled already - eating etc.

Help with sexing, please

I have just moved my zebras to another tank, good time to photograph them. Can you give me your expert opinion on the two three year olds, please Zebra 1 http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v442/zappylady/Zebra1-1.jpg Zebra 2 http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v442/zappylady/Zebra2.jpg Zebras 1 and 2 h...

Hi,
If you have Photo software you should be able to open the photo and resize it - keep aspect ratio and change the pixels size. Otherwise take your photos in a lower resolution on your camera - ie: approx: 2MP

Hope this helps

Hi Kissssolo

Just a further thought - I would weigh the moss ball down with something as mine still floats around sometimes with the heavy current. With small zebra or fry this would be a problem.

Hope you get your zebras soon

I am thinking more and more that I have two adult females. If the one pictured is gravid and there is no male - will she absorb any eggs or could her health be endangered. Why I think I might have two female is that both adults don't appear to have 'bristles' of any sort and, I would have thought th...

Yes it is always in a cave - the reason I wasn't sure is that it has a huge belly lately and looks more and more like a gravid female, perhaps wishful thinking of my part

What do you think?

Sorry, not very good photos of my over 3 yr old zebra - approx. 7-7.5cm If I can establish the sex of this one then I will attempt to get pictures of the other adult. (The small zebra in the first photo is only just over 12 months) Although it is always in a cave, I am not sure it is male. What are ...

Lovely photo Smithrc, at least there is room for both of them  Your caves look quite roomy inside - looks like they would be large enough for other species of pleco. I could do with about five for two of the tanks as I currently have an L014 and an L199 sharing a cave which isn't ideal. Are you...

I would like some more caves, but can anybody tell me how I can stop the clown loaches using them to sleep in  Everytime I add another cave there is a battle between the plecos and the clown loaches and the clown loaches always win. I have lost one clown loach because the pleco attempted to get...

Why do you shout, CDNAqua, and I really don't know why you have to be so rude!! I am glad you recognise that I am entitled to an opinion and my comments aren't based on ignorance just facts. Having seen many FO's and F1's of various ages the sizes differ considerably at the same age, not due to negl...

Don't be sorry, CDNAqua, my zebras are beautiful. I do believe that the zebras sent to you are at least 2 years old, if not 2.5 years. Have you ever seen fry of 1yr old??
